Zebra Coloring Pages

Zebras are easy to spot on the savanna, with black and white stripes from their ears to the tip of their tail. Choose a level for your child: the little page is a friendly zebra with big, simple shapes, the kids page adds grass, flowers and a sun, and the detailed page puts the zebra among acacia trees. Print one, or tap the areas to color it on screen first.

Zebra facts for kids

  • Zebras live in Africa, on grassy plains and in open woodland.
  • Every zebra has its own pattern of stripes, so no two zebras look exactly the same.
  • Zebras eat mostly grass and spend much of the day grazing.
  • Zebras belong to the horse family, together with horses and donkeys.
  • A baby zebra is called a foal, and it can stand and walk soon after it is born.

How to use this coloring page

  • Little level: chunky crayons work well, and the big round body is a good place to start.
  • In a classroom, print the kids page and talk about why every zebra's stripes are different before the children color.
  • Print at 100% scale on plain paper; the solid black stripes come out sharp on any home printer.

Pip's idea

Give your zebra rainbow stripes, or swap the black for your favorite color and invent a zebra nobody has seen before.

Questions and answers

Do I have to color the zebra's stripes black?
No. Real zebras are black and white, but the stripes are a fun place to try other colors. On the kids and detailed pages the stripes are already filled in black, so children color the white parts and the scene around the zebra.
Which zebra page suits a three-year-old?
The little level, made for ages 3 to 5. It has very thick lines, no background and a few big areas, with the stripes drawn as simple lines.
Can I color the zebra online?
Yes. Open the page, tap an area to fill it with a color, then print or save your picture.
