How to Draw a Kudu

A kudu starts with its back horn, then strong legs and a big body with seven thin stripes. A thick neck, a spiky mane and a small beard come next. The front horn twists up beside the first one, so take your time with each twist before you add the round ears, the wide head looking at you and the friendly face.

Questions and answers

How do I draw the kudu's spiral horns?
Draw small curved pieces one above the other, leaning up and back from the head, and make each piece a little thinner than the one below. Leave a tiny gap between the twists so the horn looks like a corkscrew.
How many stripes should my kudu have?
Six to eight thin lines going down the side of the body look right; this lesson uses seven. Keep them thin and a little apart, and do not color them in.
