How to Draw an Ostrich
An ostrich is a good drawing for beginners because the whole bird is built from one big oval, one small oval and some long lines. You draw the body first, then the head high up on the left, and join them with a stretched-out neck. Two long legs, a flat beak and a few fluffy feathers finish it off.

Questions and answers
- How long should the ostrich's neck and legs be?
- Very long. Make the neck and each leg at least as long as the body is tall, because those long lines are what make the drawing look like an ostrich.
- How do I draw the fluffy tail feathers?
- Use a few big, rounded loops at the back of the body instead of straight lines, and let them overlap a little so they look soft and bouncy.
