How to Draw a Cow

This cow starts as two ovals: a big one for the body and a tall one for the head. Then come four straight legs with round hooves, ears that stick out to the sides, short horns, an udder and a long tail. The face and the big patches come last, and they are what make the drawing look like a friendly cow.

Questions and answers

How do I draw the cow's horns?
Draw two short curves on top of the head that bend outward and up, one on each side. Keep them small, because a dairy cow has short horns.
How do I draw the patches?
Draw each patch as a closed, wavy, rounded shape inside the body, leaving a little space between it and the outline. Big, simple patches look better than many small ones.
