Rabbit Coloring Pages

This pet rabbit sits facing left, with two long pointed ears, the front one standing up and the back one leaning back behind it, a big round haunch, a long flat hind foot and a round fluffy tail. Children aged 3 to 5 can start with the little page, which shows only the bunny in very thick lines. The kids page, for ages 6 to 8, sets it on the grass under two clouds with a carrot nearby, and the detailed page, for ages 9 to 12, adds hills, a small barn, flowers and a butterfly.

  • A rabbit's front teeth keep growing all its life, so it chews a lot to keep them short.
  • Rabbits have strong back legs with long feet, which help them hop and jump.
  • A baby rabbit is called a kit.
  • Wild rabbits live in groups and dig burrows under the ground.

How to use this coloring page

  • Little level: color the big body and the ears with one soft crayon, then add pink inside the ears and on the nose.
  • Kids level: green grass, a blue sky and an orange carrot turn the bunny page into a quick garden scene.
  • Detailed level: shade the hills with a few greens and give the barn a red color so the rabbit stands out in front.
  • At home or in class, ask the children what a pet rabbit needs each day, like hay, water and room to hop.
  • Print at 100% on plain paper. Leave the fluffy tail white so it looks soft against the colored body.

Pip's idea

Give the bunny a spring coat: color its fur in pastel stripes or dots, like a painted egg, and make the ears a different color from the body.

Questions and answers

Why does a rabbit have such long ears?
Long ears help a rabbit hear sounds from far away, and they can turn to listen in different directions. Color the inside of each ear pink to show the thin skin.
What colors can I use for a pet rabbit?
Pet rabbits can be white, grey, brown, black or spotted. A light brown body with a white tail and a pink nose looks friendly, but any fur color works.
Which rabbit page suits a three-year-old?
The little level, for ages 3 to 5. It shows only the bunny with very thick lines and a few big shapes, so the ears, body and tail are easy to fill in.
