How to Draw an Impala
An impala starts as a long oval body with a neck that rises to a small head and a long nose. Four thin legs with knobby knees make it look light and quick. The big ears, the large eye and the lyre-shaped horns come near the end, and the belly line and tufted tail finish the drawing.

Questions and answers
- How do I draw the impala's lyre-shaped horns?
- Draw each horn as a long S-curve: it goes up and back from the head, bends outward, then turns up again at the tip. Make the two horns mirror each other, a little apart at the top.
- How do I keep the impala's legs from looking stiff?
- Give each thin leg a small bump for the knee and a little bend below it, and finish it with a small pointed hoof. Spreading the legs slightly apart also makes the impala look ready to leap.
