How to Draw a Hyena
The secret of a hyena drawing is the back: it starts high at the shoulders and slopes down to the hips. Begin with a round head and short snout, add the sloping body and the long front legs, then the round ears and a short bushy tail. Spots go on last, so you can place them wherever you like.

Questions and answers
- How do I make my hyena look friendly?
- Keep the mouth closed and draw a small curved smile under the dark muzzle. A round eye with a little dot and round ears make the face look curious and kind.
- How is drawing a hyena different from drawing a leopard?
- A leopard's back is mostly level and its tail is long. A hyena's back slopes down from high shoulders, its ears are round and big, and its tail is short and bushy.
